Quotes from last year’s event:

“im 38 and stoked to see vert getting a rebirth. its fucking gnarly and deserves respect. I didn't care for vert until I went to Woodward in 98 and Sergie Ventura was blasting airs 8 ft above the coping while I stood on the deck and then I understood. ill never forget seeing him fly above my head, its seared into my being”

Jesus christ, what an incredible event. So much sickness being thrown down by everyone there. My jaw literally dropped at Tony's madonna crook slide (or whatever the hell it was); I've got so much respect for the man knowing that he can still inspire and surprise us. I thought that was the best trick of the contest until tate carew's insane blind hardflip thing (I don't even know how to begin naming it). Seriously stoked on this.

3:13 in..Collin Graham?? what was that backward invert thing across the channel?? That was f#$@%&£ crazy! Great skating by all tho! Crum still has that alley oop Ollie over a channel and Rune with all his greatness..of course Hosoi... Too many to name. Everyone killed it.

Southside x Redbull Skate DIY Galveston Wrap Up

For those of you who weren’t lucky enough to be there, Southside and Redbull skate put on an incredible event on the Galveston Sea Wall this past weekend.

The Sea Wall, the very thing that is supposed to keep Galveston from being destroyed, was completely obliterated by skateboarders and a different form of hurricanes.

Adding friendly transitions to the unskateable-for-most walls transformed the spot set the stage for the a street transition showdown. They DIY had two obstacles, a jersey barrier setup and the Sea Wall quarter.

Instagram Highlights

Kevin Wilkerson Memorial and Skate Plaze Fund

We lost an extremely talented, influential, and well-loved Texas skateboarder on Go Skateboarding Day this year.

Kevin’s skills were highlighted on many occasions in videos by 4duos.com contributor Maverick Moore on many occasions. It was easy to see how amazing of a skateboarder Kevin was. From all accounts, we were an even better person. Kevin will be greatly missed by all.

Kevin’s skills on display in our 5.6 June Montage in 2010

Kevin’s family has set up a GoFundMe to raise money to build Kevin’s memorial, a texas skate plaza.
